Uma vez que se trata de meio-ambiente, a ideia surgiu de uma semente que germina do subsolo, sem concorrer com edifício histórico principal, que é tombado.

Play Ground

Competition sponsored by the Botanical Garden Foundation of Rio de Janeiro in 2011, ran in partnership with Oscar Oiwa Studio NY.

The core challenge was to create new exhibition museum spaces without harming the existing green surrounding site. A particular tree has motivated us to organize the architectural groundwork around it, just like a germinating seed underground that grows up towards the sky.

The new building itself could not compete with the existing historic building, which is part of Brazilian heritage.
